Emotion means to “act without thinking”. Notice the word MOTION in the root? “E-motion” an automatic response.

We need to respond to business decisions with logic, not emotion.

“We cannot perceive anything in the external world that is inconsistent with the emotion we are feeling. We cannot access the knowledge we have that would disconfirm the emotion we are in.” – Paul Ekman

Lucikly, you can interrupt the automatic response with Emotional Intelligence.

Here is the framework:

1️⃣ 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
By recognizing the emotion, you can detach yourself from it and observe it objectively.

2️⃣ 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
Once you’ve identify the emotion, it’s essential to understand its trigger and underlying cause.

3️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲:
Consciously, not automatically, choose your response – the one that brings value to your relationship, your personal brand, and your business.
